2010 will be the year of crisis overcoming

According to Mr. Konov, the year 2010 “will be the year of the crisis overcoming for the both countries as well as for our commercial and economic relations”. Thus the main subject of the meetings conducted within the framework of the Russian – Indonesian joint commission on the commercial, economic and technical cooperation was the discussion of the prospects of the countries cooperation aimed to the global financial and economic crisis overcoming.  First of all this is connected with the multilateral forums arrangement (also in the format of G20 and APEC) and consultations between the financial ministries and economy ministries of the two countries.

According to Mr. Anatoly Yarochkin, the head of the Russian Federation delegation, the chief of the Federal Tourism Agency, nowadays in sales turnover between Indonesia and Russia “the part of non-oil and gas products is increasing, i.e. precision machines and equipment, footwear industry products”. In addition the work experience exchange in the brownfield potential improvement is also important. The usage projects of the up-to-date domestic researches applied to the detection and exploitation of mineral deposits as well as machinery and ecology projects were presented to the potential partners.

The Day of the Russian oil-and-gas technologies conducted on October 21, 2009 and organized by GC “Petros” in association with the Russian Federation embassy in Indonesia and the trade mission can be considered as the main event of the Commission. The projects of the Russian innovative companies working on the brownfield efficiency and the other technologies were presented in the course of the event.

The president of GC “Petros”, Felix Zanichkovsky, in the interview to the Russian Information Agency “News” made a special emphasis on the fact that the event is aimed to increase the application field of the project which implementation has already started in Indonesia within the framework of GC “Petros” projects.  According to his words the Group managed by him at the present moment is the only Russian oil-and-gas company that has its representative office in Indonesia.

Taking into account the interest of the foreign partners in Russian experience in oil development field and the presence of the formed business environment GC “Petros” will be an “integrator” and will bring its partners to Indonesia, for example, CJSCV “Geotech Holding”, consortium “Chistiy Mir” and others.

Mr. Zanichkovsky said: “This is necessary also for ourselves: it’s high time to assist the appearance of the companies we’ll be working with. Opening Indonesia for the Russian oil-and-gas companies and making the disclosure of the Russian technologies to Indonesian representatives we simultaneously cement the existing friendship and create the new opportunities for the own business as well as receive the support to solve the existing problems.” Moreover there are some prospects for the productive cooperation: in the year 2008 the government of Indonesia took a decision to reactivate 5500 wells withdrawn from the service before 1970.
