Inpex Sells off Indonesian Blocks
Inpex said it had completed the sale of its 13% interest in offshore Southeast Sumatra Block (OSES) and 7.25% interest in offshore Northwest Java Block (ONWJ) as it looked to optimise its asset portfolio in Indonesia. Pertamina already operates the ONWJ Block, after buying out BP’s share last year, and production from the block is now 26,800 barrels per day of oil and 205 million cubic feet per day of gas. China National Offshore Oil Corporation operates the OSES Block, where production is about 41,000 bpd of oil. Inpex sold its interest in the blocks by selling all of its 83.5% interest in Inpex Jawa to Pertamina. The other shareholders of Inpex Jawa are Shoseki Overseas Oil Development (12.5%) and JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration (4%). |
