Indonesia September Crude, Condensate Output 956,509 B/D Official

Indonesia's crude oil and condensate output in September fell short of the government's target due to temporary shutdowns of several wells last month, a government official said Tuesday

Output reached 956,509 barrels a day in September, below the target of 965,000 barrels a day and down slightly from 961,821 barrels a day in August.

Raden Priyono, chairman of upstream oil and gas regulator BPMigas, said leakage from a natural gas pipeline in South Sumatra last week cut Chevron Pacific Indonesia's crude oil output by 152,000 barrels a day and PT Pertamina- Bumi Siak Pusako's production by 14,000 barrels a day from their wells in Riau province.

Meanwhile, a fire in late August that gutted an oil tanker serving Kangean Energi's operations reduced the company's output by 2,000 barrels a day, Priyono said.

Indonesia has been struggling to increase its crude oil production following years of insufficient investment in the sector mainly caused by legal uncertainties.
