Lundin Awarded Natuna Sea Block
![]() | Indonesia’s oil and gas regulating authority MIGAS has awarded Lundin Petroleum a production-sharing contract in the Natuna Sea. Lundin will operate the block with a 60% interest, the remainder held by Salamander Energy. The South Sokang block PSC covers an area of 4,994 sq km (1,928 sq mi), and includes a frontier Eocene/Oligocene basin which Lundin claims to have discovered. During the first three-year exploration phase the partners plan to acquire 2,400 km (1,491 mi) of 2D and 500 sq km (193 sq mi) of 3D seismic. |
