Indonesia Fuel Consumption May Reach 42 Mn Kl
"We're still discussing about [the fuel control policy] with the House of Representatives (DPR). Later, if Pak Anggito Abimanyu has done with the official study [on the issue], we'll file report on it to the Coordinating Minister for the Economy and DPR," said Director General of Oil and Gas Evita Legowo in Jakarta today, Feb 28. Anggito Abimanyu is Chief of the Independent Team on Subsidized Fuel Control. According to Evita, if subsidized fuel is maintained, fuel consumption will exceed the allocated volume set in the State Budget. Based on the figure made by the government, subsidized fuel consumption in 2011 will be reaching 42 million kiloliters. |

However, should fuel control be avoided, the government expects a rise in fuel use by three million kiloliters out of the quota of 38.5 million kiloliters.
