Pertamina delegation in Moscow

Petros Group hosted Pertamina delegation which arrived to Moscow on October 27 with a 10 days visit to study leading Russian technologies on Enhanced Oil Recovery and Improved Oil Production.

The delegation headed by Mr Mastur Efendy – the chief of Pertamina Upstream Technology Centre – visited several Russian oil companies and scientific institutes which successfully implement modern EOR technologies in oil fields in Russia and other countries. Besides Petros Group among such companies were the state owned Zarubejneft oil company, Central Geophisical Expedition (CGE), All Russia Oil and Gas Research Institute named after A.Krilov (VNIINEFT) and an international oil& gas consulting company Neftegazkonsult.

Among EOR technologies discussed during the meetings a special attention was paid to the Air Injection Thermal EOR Technology unvented by Russian academician A. Bokserman in 1970-ths. Since then the technology was successfully implemented not only in Russia, but also abroad including such countries as Ukraine and the USA.

In Zarubejneft company Mr A.Bokserman himself carried out presentation of the technology to the Indonesian guests explaining know-how details important for successful implementation of this technology. On the next day the delegation visited a scientific laboratory in VNIINEFT oil & gas research institute where model tests are carried out to determine proper technological parameters for specific oil fields where the air injection technology is now being implemented.

In Petros office Indonesian delegation also studied two technologies for improved oil recovery which Petros has been implementing practically in all major Russian oil fields including such Siberian giant as Samotlor (operated by TNK-BP company). The Presentation was carried out by the key technologists who arrived to Petros Moscow office from Siberia and Tatarstan Republic specially for this purpose.

At the end of visit the head of Pertamina delegation Mr Mastur Efendy as well as the other Indonesian guests expressed their satisfaction with the results of their visit and the hope that Russian technologies for Enhanced Oil Recovery and Improved Oil Production will be soon implemented in Indonesian oil fields.
